The Buffalo Sabres had a lot of expectations entering the 2019-2020 NHL season. They signed Jeff Skinner, named Ralph Krueger the new head coach after firing Phil Housley, and with Eichel expecting to have a career high, everyone believes that this will be the year. After a 9-2-2 start, they fell apart yet again like the previous season. Injuries started plaguing the team, no help from secondary lines, and awful contracts that could put the team in salary cap hell are the issues this team has been having. The issue with After hearing the news about a fan rant on the radio, an article appeared on WIVB about Sabres fans protesting.
The article may be short, but it was an interesting read. The article is titled Sabres fan planning protest against team by Chris Horvatits. In the article, it is revealed a fan, probably the same fan that ranted, has called for a fan protest on the managing of the Buffalo Sabres organization. The poll was created after Buffalo dropped the third in a row by losing 3-1 to the Montreal Canadiens. The Pegulas and GM Jason Botterill have been criticized for their roles in the Sabres rebuild. The Pegulas have been called out on not treating this franchise as they said when Terry bought the franchise back in 2011. In the short article, there is a poll on asking if Sabres fans would protest both the Pegulas, Jason Botterill, and others that are involved with the Sabres organization. A total of 3,000 people took the poll and to make it even more embarrassing, 78 percent said yes to a protest. It is very depressing look at this because of what is happening to the Sabres and how much the fans could not take it at this point. The protest may be happening on February 8th, at 11 am at Alumni Plaza. That was the best thing I read this week.
